March Updates & Upcoming Events

TANKS, TANKS, TANKS!

On Wednesday, we received three of our four fermenters - two 15-barrel ones and one 30-barrel one. The remaining 30-barrel fermenter and the rest of the brewhouse should arrive sometime in May. We're looking forward to having these beauties on display in our taproom!

Construction update

Sigh. I wish there were more to report here, but we still don't have approval to begin construction. As anyone who has been through a similar project knows, the process for obtaining approval to build can drag on as different departments weigh in with changes - mostly minor, but some large - and each round of comments requires updated architectural plans, re-submission, and a lot of waiting to see if there will be additional comments. It's painful to be sitting on an empty building like this, but I feel like this is sort of a rite of passage.

UPCOMING EVENTS

3/17 (TOMORROW): Fairfax 2018 Brewfest

Known for being a super fun local beer festival, the 23rd annual Fairfax Brewfest is from 1PM - 5PM tomorrow. We'll be pouring our West End Wheat, Wrong Side of the Bed Coffee Stout, and I-Haven't-Thought-of-a-Name Pale Ale. Come say hi to us and enjoy tastes from over 25 breweries, food, and live music! Tickets still available here or at the door ($15 designated driver, $40 unlimited tasting). Wear your green!

3/23 - 3/24: TART Boutique Pop-up Sale @ Pond Farm

Sorry, no beer at this one, but we've rented out our building to TART Collections to host a pop-up sale featuring their "laid-back chic" women's clothing. Stop by to do some shopping (if this sounds like your thing) or just take a peep at our space. 1848 4th St., San Rafael. Friday 12PM - 7PM; Saturday 10AM - 4PM

4/5: San Rafael State of the City Dinner

Hosted by the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, the State of the City Dinner is the premier event of the year for networking with your fellow business, government and nonprofit leaders in Marin County. Pond Farm Brewing will be offering samples of our beer during the "Best of San Rafael" networking hour. Additional info and tickets here.

5PM - 8:30PM at the Peacock Gap Clubhouse

4/7: Past and Future Connections to Pond Farm Pottery

We're pouring beer at the opening reception of an exhibition dedicated to our namesake (read the story behind our name here). The exhibition at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts will showcase the works of Marguerite Wildenhain and her students, aka Pond Farmers, will be open from March 30th - May 6th.

Opening reception: tickets $60, 4/7 12PM - 2PM

5/10: Fresh Starts Chef Event: Chef Daniel Kedan & Pond Farm Brewing

Join us for this special evening benefitting Homeward Bound, the main provider of shelter, housing, and support services for people experiencing homelessness in Marin. Each month they host fundraising dinners with favorite local chefs and we're honored to pair up with Chef Daniel Kedan (of Forestville's Backyard restaurant) on May 10th! Come drink our beer, eat delicious food, and help out a fantastic local organization. All proceeds from the evening will benefit Homeward Bound's shelter and job training programs.

Tickets $60. Only 15 spaces left!

Key Room in Novato; 6:30PM

I hope to see you at at least one of these events!

Cheers, Stephanie
